F3H-2 Demon 1:48 from Hobby Boss: an injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier-borne jet fighter of the 1950s with a detailed cockpit, photo-etched parts and decals for the US Navy.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier-borne jet fighter McDonnell F3H-2 Demon in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The parts are molded in gray and clear plastic, and the box holds a well-detailed cockpit with an instrument panel, detailed landing gear, photo-etched parts and decals for four US Navy machines.
The F3H Demon was an American single-engine carrier fighter built by McDonnell in the 1950s, with a characteristic swept wing. The F3H-2 was the first fully operational variant of the Demon family and became one of the first US Navy carrier fighters armed with guided air-to-air missiles. It served as an all-weather interceptor and, in design experience and concept alike, directly foreshadowed the later famous McDonnell F-4 Phantom II.
Paint and assemble the cockpit and the instrument panel before closing the fuselage, because once it is glued there is no access to them. Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic, and glue the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Mask the canopy glazing before spraying. Apply a primer before painting and spray the scheme with an airbrush in thin coats. The period naval finish in gloss white and gray calls for a smooth gloss base and a subtle panel wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
