A detail set, not an airplane model. This is a resin cockpit set for a model of the American Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat carrier-based fighter in 1:48 scale. The set replaces the cockpit from the box with a faithfully cast tub, instrument panel, side consoles and seat. Intended for experienced modelers.
Even in 1:48 scale the cockpit under a slid-back canopy is a striking detail. The resin castings carry sharp relief of the instruments, levers and switches that injection-molded plastic cannot manage. Photo-etched parts and a film with the dials for building a realistic instrument panel are usually included as well. The result is a faithful, deeply articulated pilot's compartment of an early carrier-based fighter.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
