The name of the item defines what is inside: seat belts made in steel, in 1:48 scale. In extent it is the smallest kind of metal accessory, but also the one that is best seen on a finished model. The Eduard brand makes them in the Czech Republic and offers them for a whole range of types alongside larger sets. It is a short job with a visible result.
Brass sheet tends to spring partly back after bending, whereas steel stays in the position you fold it into. On a belt that is meant to hang over the edge of the seat or to wave naturally, that is the decisive property. The harder material also takes repeated reshaping better when the first attempt does not come off. Thin sheet moreover matches the scale better than a molding, whose thickness a mold cannot press below a certain limit.
Make the fold over a rounded edge, not a sharp one. Thread a longer belt through the opening of the buckle first and only then seat it on the seat. Dose the glue with the tip of a piece of wire, so that the excess does not spread around. If the shape does not suit you, carefully straighten the part and try again. Compare the finished shape with a period photograph; the straps usually do not hang symmetrically.
