This 3D printed set from Eduard is not a model on its own but a detail accessory. To a model of the F4F-4 Wildcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale it adds faithfully made landing gear bays with the fine structure of ribs, stiffeners and pipe runs that injection-molded plastic cannot capture.
On models with the landing gear down the wheel bays are clearly visible, so improving them makes a marked difference to the overall impression. The 3D printing process allows sharp edges and fine details that bring the underside of the fuselage and the wing to life once painted and washed.
Separate the parts carefully from the print supports, clean up the surfaces and clear the dust off them before gluing. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). To bring out the detail, applying a primer and then using a darker wash in the recesses is recommended.
This is an accessory set, not an airplane model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
