Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous American Second World War carrier-based fighter in 1:48 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. From the parts you can build the early F4U-1 version with its well-known heavily framed canopy, nicknamed the Bird Cage, or the night-fighter F4U-2 with a radar pod on the right wing. According to the manufacturer's catalog, the package includes a detailed engine, cockpit, a pilot figure, bombs and drop tanks, and several marking options. The wings can be assembled folded or spread.
The Vought F4U Corsair is one of the most famous carrier-based fighters of the Second World War. Its recognition feature is the inverted gull wing, which allowed a large propeller without an overly long landing gear. A powerful Pratt and Whitney radial engine of around 2000 horsepower gave the Corsair high speed and climb rate. Early F4U-1 aircraft had a heavily framed canopy; Corsairs became feared fighters in the Pacific.
Use thin liquid plastic cement and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the detailed engine and cockpit before closing the fuselage; the heavily framed Bird Cage canopy will call for careful masking. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. Quality acrylic or enamel paints suit the period navy blue schemes well; take care with proper fit when folding the wings.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
