A detail accessory for models of the early fighter Corsair in the F4U-1/2 version with the so-called birdcage cockpit (Bird Cage) in 1:48 scale. It is a vacuum-formed (vacuform) clear canopy from the Rob Taurus brand. This is not an airplane model but replacement glazing.
The heavily divided framed canopy of the early Corsair comes into its own with thin, clear glazing far better than with the thick-walled part from the box. It also makes it possible to show an open cockpit convincingly.
Cut the part out with an overlap, sand the edges down thin and try the fit dry. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or with glue for clear parts. Mask the individual frames carefully, because this version has more of them.
The accessory does not contain a plastic model or paints; it serves only as a replacement canopy.
