This plastic kit from Hobby Boss represents the early form of the Vought F4U-4 Corsair carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The box holds richly broken-up injection-molded plastic, clear parts and a decal sheet. The model offers a detailed cockpit, landing gear and powerplant.
The Vought F4U Corsair was an American carrier fighter aircraft with an unmistakable inverted gull wing in the shape of an inverted letter W. The F4U-4 version was among the best performing production Corsairs; it received a more powerful engine and a four-blade propeller. It was used at the end of the Second World War and then in the Korean War as well.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. Align the inverted gull wing carefully so that the model sits at the specified dihedral. Apply the dark blue naval finishes with an airbrush, use a gloss clear coat before the decals and even out the surface with a matte overcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
