An injection-molded plastic kit of the carrier fighter aircraft Vought F4U-4 Corsair in the late version in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The new tooling captures the characteristic inverted gull wing, the powerful powerplant with a four-blade propeller, a detailed cockpit, glazing made of clear parts and decals for squadrons of the Korean War period.
The F4U-4 was the ultimate combat version of the Corsair, with a more powerful Pratt and Whitney radial engine and a four-blade propeller, thanks to which the machine reached a higher speed and rate of climb than the earlier variants. Late F4U-4s served above all during the Korean War, where they excelled in the fighter-bomber role and in the close support of ground forces. The Corsair is among the most successful carrier fighters in history.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Finish the detailed cockpit and accentuate it with a wash before closing the fuselage. Seat the inverted gull wing carefully so that it sits symmetrically. Mask the glazing for sharp frames. Spray the dark blue naval finish with an airbrush over a primer and bring it to life with a panel wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
