A detail cockpit set for the Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat carrier-based fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Aires. It is a resin accessory that replaces the basic cockpit interior from a plastic kit with a more faithful, finely detailed assembly: a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, side consoles, a control stick and a seat.
The F6F Hellcat was an American carrier-based fighter of the Second World War, deployed above all in the Pacific. It was powered by a radial engine and the machine became famous for its toughness as well as its performance in the fights over the Pacific. The F6F-3 version was the first large-scale production variant of the type.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection while sanding. The interior comes into its own best once painted and the details picked out gently with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
