This set is a resin accessory from Quickboost (Aires) in 1:48 scale, not a standalone airplane model. It replaces the engine of the Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat plastic kit with an accurate resin casting of the air-cooled radial engine, with the cylinders and the front of the powerplant rendered in detail. The set is meant for experienced modelers who want to take the engine section beyond the level of the part from the box.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American single-seat carrier fighter of the Second World War, powered by a capable air-cooled radial engine. Rugged and reliable, it became the backbone of the fighter defense of the carriers in the Pacific. The F6F-3 version was the first production variant to see combat.
This is a resin casting for advanced builders. First wash the parts to remove mold release residue, carefully cut off the casting blocks (gates) and clean up the cut surfaces – always with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); test the surfaces dry before you fix it in place. It pays to paint the engine and pick out the ignition harness before you close the cowling over it.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin set. The aircraft kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package.
