This set is a resin accessory from Quickboost (Aires) in 1:48 scale, not a standalone airplane model. It replaces the exhausts of the Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat plastic kit with accurate resin castings whose exhaust pipe openings are finely hollowed out. The set is meant for experienced modelers who want to take the exhaust section beyond the level of the part from the box.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American single-seat carrier fighter of the Second World War with a capable air-cooled radial engine. Its sturdy structure and reliability made it the backbone of the fighter defense of the carriers in the Pacific. The F6F-3 version was the first production variant to see combat.
These are resin castings for advanced builders. First wash the parts to remove mold release residue, carefully cut off the casting blocks (gates) and clean up the cut surfaces – always with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); test the fit dry first. Drill the exhaust openings lightly and paint them in burnt steel shades before you fit them.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin set. The aircraft kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package.
