This product is not an airplane model but a small resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand (Aires). It holds a finely cast pilot headrest that replaces the corresponding part from the kit and refines the look of the cockpit. Without the base aircraft kit you cannot use it.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a carrier-based fighter with a radial engine. The headrest behind the pilot seat is a prominently visible feature of the cockpit; a fine casting with a faithful texture raises the realism of the interior under an open or glazed canopy.
Carefully separate the part from the casting block, clean up the cut and wash the mold release agent off the casting. Bond it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer before painting and pick out the detail with a brush or a wash.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and requires the base aircraft kit, which is not included in the package.
