A set of colored interior 3D decals from Quinta Studio for detailing the cockpit of the American F/A-18D Hornet carrier fighter in the early version and in 1:48 scale. The Early designation distinguishes the early cockpit equipment from the later upgraded machines, which have different instrumentation. It is neither a kit nor a model: the set replaces the bare plastic interior parts with a richly broken-up, raised and pre-painted surface. The decals are shaped to fit the parts of the Kinetic kit.
A 3D decal is a relief colored decal: the instrument panels of the front and rear cockpit, the side consoles, the seats and other elements stand out in relief and come painted from the factory. They are applied by the wet method like a decal, but their thickness makes them behave more like pre-painted photo-etch. The dials have clear gloss glazing, so they look realistic.
For modelers in 1:48 scale who are building the early two-seat Hornet and want a realistic cockpit without photo-etch and without painting the dials by hand.
