This set from Red Fox Studio brings a fully pre-painted three-dimensional (3D) instrument panel and cockpit details made of thin acrylic. It is not a kit and not a waterslide decal either, but a finished surface detail glued directly onto the plastic interior. The modern cockpit of the Super Hornet is built around large-area displays, which the set captures faithfully with a hyperrealistic print and an imitation of the sheen of the glasses. It is prepared to measure for a particular kit of the single-seat E version in 1:48 scale.
The Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet is a single-seat carrier-borne multi-role fighter and strike aircraft of the US Navy. Compared with the original Hornet it has a larger airframe, a longer range and more modern avionics. Its glass cockpit with multi-function displays is a typical feature of contemporary carrier machines.
The parts are separated from the carrier frame and glued onto the interior, best with super glue (cyanoacrylate); PVA glue is also possible. The surface will take fine washes and matting down with acrylic varnish. Before gluing, we recommend checking the fit dry.
It is an interior detail accessory, not a complete model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
