This decal sheet from HGW reproduces the texture of the fabric (linen) covering of aircraft surfaces. Unlike the clear variant, this Base White execution has a white color of its own, so it can be applied even to an unpainted surface and then oversprayed in the target shade, or it serves as a light base. It is applied by the wet method.
Fabric-covered surfaces (rudders, ailerons, parts of the fuselage) are hard to imitate at scale by painting. This decal gives a faithful cloth texture with ribs and stitching suggested; the white base provides a neutral light foundation under the coloring that follows.
The sheet is meant for aircraft models in 1:48 scale with fabric surfaces. Cut out the shape you need, apply it by the wet method and use a decal softener; once it has dried, the surface can be oversprayed in the target color. The surface underneath should be smooth.
This is a standalone texture decal, not a model of an aircraft. Paints and a kit are not included in the package.
