This decal sheet from the maker HGW reproduces the fine structure of the fabric covering of aircraft surfaces. The Transparent version is see-through, so it is applied over an already painted surface and keeps the coloring you have chosen; the decal adds only the fabric texture with the ribs and seams suggested. It is applied the wet way.
Fabric-covered surfaces (rudders, ailerons, parts of the fuselage of older aircraft) are hard to imitate in scale by painting. This decal adds a faithful structure of the fabric and the stitching, with which the surface comes alive at once and gains a relief that is correct in scale.
The sheet is meant for models of aircraft in 1:48 scale with fabric surfaces. Cut out the shape you need, apply it the wet way like a decal and use a softener so that it seats into the recesses; the base should be smooth and semi-gloss. Because the decal is transparent, paint the area in the target shade first.
This is a texture decal on its own, not a model of an aircraft. Paints and a kit are not included in the package.
