A photo-etched detail set for a model of the A-10C Thunderbolt II attack aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American attack aircraft meant for close support of ground troops. The whole structure is built around a seven-barrel 30 mm cannon and assumes that the machine will be hit: the pilot sits in an armored tub and the controls are duplicated. The C version is a later upgrade with reworked avionics and new cockpit equipment.
Photo-etched parts in thin metal sheet for a 1:48 model of the A-10C. The enclosed manufacturer's instructions are binding. They also give the assembly order and a note on which shapes on the kit are thinned or cut away before the metal is glued on.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, then sand the burrs away. Make the bends in a bender or between two blades so that the edge stays straight. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a small amount; any excess is hard to get off metal. Wash and degrease the surface before painting and spray it with a primer; otherwise the finish will not hold on smooth metal and rubs off during handling.
The set suits a modeler who has already built with small metal parts and wants to take an A-10C model beyond the contents of the kit. Check in the instructions which particular 1:48 kit it is developed for. The kit itself, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
