Xtradecal 1:48 Fighters over North Africa and the Mediterranean - the second part is a decal sheet in 1:48 scale. Supplementary markings for a finished model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second part of a themed decal line from the manufacturer Xtradecal in 1:48 scale, focused on fighters in the North African and Mediterranean area. It has content of its own and can be bought without the first part. The sheet brings markings for a painted model; the plastic base, the paints and the glue are not part of the package.
The operating conditions of the desert theater left their mark on the machines quickly. Besides the sand and brown upper shades, patched-in spraying, overpainted markings and markings added in the field routinely appeared. It is this layering that makes models from this setting interesting: a decal need not be laid down as if from the factory, it can be partly covered by later weathering. We treat the subject factually and technically, without historical judgment.
Thin decals have limited covering power and lose color on dark or saturated varnish: white turns gray and yellow turns green. When a marking is to go on a dark area, spray its shape first with a thin coat of white or light gray through a simple mask and lay the decal onto that light backing. The second option is to lay two identical decals exactly over one another, but they have to match to a tenth of a millimeter, otherwise a blurred edge is formed.
This is a standalone decal sheet, that is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
