An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Focke-Wulf Ta 152 C-1/R14 fighter in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures a late development version of the Focke-Wulf family with a detailed cockpit, clear canopy parts and a finely engraved surface. The exact contents of the box, the parts count and the camouflage schemes are given in the instructions in the box.
The Ta 152 was the peak of the development line derived from the Fw 190 fighter. The prefix was changed from Fw to Ta in honor of the designer Kurt Tank, who led the team. The Ta 152 C version was conceived as a high-performance fighter and fighter-bomber with a powerful V12 engine and heavy gun armament, made up of an engine-mounted cannon of 30 mm caliber and several cannons of 20 mm caliber. Compared with the high-altitude Ta 152 H version with its long wings, the C version had a shorter, sturdier wing for combat at low and medium altitudes. Only a small number of machines were built before the end of the war and they made practically no mark in combat, but the aircraft is among the technically most interesting German fighters of the very end of the conflict.
The cockpit will take the most work — it pays to paint the seat, the instrument panel and the belts carefully before you close up the fuselage. Fit the canopy glazing only after painting and mask the frames beforehand, so that the clear area stays clean. Apply a gloss clear coat under the decals, sand the fuselage joints smooth and bring the fine engraving to life with a dark wash. Lay the late German camouflage down with an airbrush with soft transitions; if you build the model with underwing stores, fit them at the very end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
