A masking set for the national insignia of the AH-1G and OV-10A machines in 1:48 scale. Instead of a decal the insignia is sprayed, so it has no carrier film and does not silver.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Dead Design set does not deal with the cabin but with the national insignia. The templates are stuck onto the surface of the model and the insignia is sprayed in paint through them. The result is a part of the finish, not a decal laid on top, so it has no transparent carrier film, does not shine on a flat finish and has no edge that could be felt.
The set covers the attack helicopter Bell AH-1G and the twin-boom observation aircraft Rockwell OV-10A Bronco. It is precisely with these that a sprayed insignia pays off the most. The fuselage of the Cobra is narrow and strongly rounded, and the booms and engine nacelles of the Bronco have an intricate surface on which a decal easily makes wrinkles, even if you soften it. Sprayed paint has no such problems, because it follows the shape perfectly.
Spray the insignia only onto a finished and dried base finish. Stick the template on, cover the surroundings with paper or tape and apply the paint in several very thin coats straight at the surface, so that it does not get under the edge. If the insignia lies on a dark base and is to contain a light shade, spray a covering white first and the target color only on top of it. Take the template off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch.
