Eduard Fw 190D masks 1:48 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the German Fw 190D Dora fighter. It gives crisp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is intended for a plastic model of the German Fw 190D Dora fighter. It is neither a kit nor a model in its own right, but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want crisp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage areas without tediously cutting tape by hand.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D, nicknamed Dora, is a German fighter from the end of the Second World War. Unlike the radial-engined versions of the Fw 190 it was given a liquid-cooled V engine, the Jumo 213, on account of which it had an elongated nose and a longer fuselage. In performance at high altitude it ranked among the best German piston fighters and it was deployed in the Defense of the Reich airspace.
Clean and degrease the glazing of the canopy. Lift the masks off the backing and lay them on the cockpit frames, pressing them into the edges and filling the small cut-outs with a strip of tape. Spray the paint with an airbrush in two thin coats. The masks for the wheels separate the tire from the disc. The set also makes it easier to lay down the crisp edges of the camouflage areas typical of late German machines. Once dry, peel the masks off carefully.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
