This is a turned metal detail set, not a model. The package contains two precisely turned metal barrels for the German 20 mm MG 151 aircraft cannon, in 1:48 scale. The metal barrels replace the plastic parts from the kit, with a cleanly open muzzle, an accurate cylindrical shape, and far greater durability than thin molded plastic.
The 20 mm version of the MG 151 was the standard aircraft cannon of the Luftwaffe during the Second World War. It armed a number of fighters and other combat aircraft, so this set suits detailing many models of German aircraft from that period.
Cut off the plastic barrels on the model, drill holes of the correct diameter, and glue the metal barrels in place with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the brass before painting and apply a primer. Work with tweezers, as the parts are small.
An add-on for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
