The Gloster Gladiator Mk.I/Mk.II engine, exhausts and cowling is a resin detail set from SBS Model for experienced modelers, meant for Gloster Gladiator models in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set replaces the simplified plastic parts from the box with a more faithfully cast radial engine, a set of exhausts and a reworked engine cowling. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for Gloster Gladiator models in 1:48 scale. With the cowling open, detail that is otherwise hidden comes into its own.
The Gloster Gladiator was the last British fighter biplane taken into service. It was powered by the Bristol Mercury radial engine and went into action at the beginning of the Second World War, among other places in the defense of Malta. The accurate engine and its cowling are among the most noticeable features of the whole aircraft.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter and sand the faces with your airways protected. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). A primer and an airbrush are recommended before painting; an exposed engine comes into its own with fine highlighting and weathering.
This is an accessory set, not a complete model. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
