An injection-molded plastic kit of a British single-seat biplane in 1:48 scale. The model captures the naval version of the legendary Gladiator fighter, adapted for operating from aircraft carriers. The parts are in gray plastic, a clear canopy frame and a decal sheet with several marking options are included. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Gloster Gladiator was the last British biplane fighter to reach frontline service. The carrier-borne Sea Gladiator version received a tailhook, a strengthened structure for catapult launching and a housing with an inflatable life raft under the fuselage. The type became famous above all for the defense of Malta in the first months of the war and for its service with British naval aviation. It was powered by a Bristol Mercury radial engine.
A biplane calls for patience with assembling the interplane struts and stretching the bracing wires. It is a good idea to finish and paint the interior and the engine before closing the fuselage. We recommend thin cement for plastic, a base coat of primer and spraying with an airbrush for even fabric surfaces. Work out the layout of the wires in advance from the side drawings.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
