1:48 Gotha Go-244B. Propellers set is a set of propellers for a model of the German powered transport aircraft of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of bladed propellers for a model of the unusual German transport machine with twin tail booms. It is exactly the engine nacelles with their propellers that set this type apart from its unpowered predecessor, so it is a section worth bringing out carefully. A model of the aircraft is not in the package.
The Go 244 arose from the conversion of a large cargo glider, to which the designers added a pair of engines so that it would no longer depend on a tug. The powerplants used came from captured French units and their power was only just sufficient for the weight of the aircraft, so the machine stayed slow and, on the loss of one engine, practically impossible to keep in the air. Its commitment over the Mediterranean and over the Eastern Front therefore ended early and the surviving examples returned to being towed. Even so it is a type that catches the eye in any display case with its shape with two booms and its roomy cargo fuselage.
Fit the propellers only after the nacelles are painted, otherwise you will damage the blades during masking. Check that both hubs have the same blade pitch, because asymmetry is conspicuous on a twin-engine machine. On German machines of this era the blades were usually dark and matte, so let that contrast with the metal hub.
