Responsibility details are not available.
This is an injection-molded plastic kit of the American Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. The model comes from Eduard's proven modern tooling; depending on the edition the plastic tends to be accompanied by photo-etched parts and a painting mask, or it appears in a version with less equipment. The box offers color schemes of US Navy and Royal Navy aircraft. Check the exact equipment and the number of markings on the box itself.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a rugged carrier fighter that became the principal weapon of US naval aviation in the second half of the war in the Pacific. Its powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine, its solid structure and its six 12.7 mm machine guns made it a highly effective aircraft against Japanese fighters. The F6F-3 version was the first mass-produced variant; it was flown from the decks of aircraft carriers and from land bases, including with the British Fleet Air Arm.
Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Mask the glazing with the masks supplied and glue with liquid cement for plastic. Spray the dark blue naval camouflage with an airbrush over primer in thin coats; shade the edges and the panels gently. Bring out the panel lines with a wash and settle the decals on gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories beyond the contents of the box are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
