Eduard 1:48 Grumman FM-1 – folding wings PRINT is a 3D-printed resin set that lets you show the fighter with realistically folded wings. An accessory, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in the Brassin PRINT range is made by direct 3D printing in resin and lets you show the Grumman FM-1 Wildcat carrier fighter with folded wings in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a more demanding accessory to a kit, for more experienced modelers. The set replaces part of the wings and adds a faithfully rendered mechanism of their folding.
The Grumman, or rather the license-built General Motors FM-1 Wildcat, was a carrier fighter of the US Navy. The characteristic wing folding mechanism saved space on the decks of aircraft carriers and is a rewarding subject for a striking display of a model in the parked configuration.
First wash the resin parts free of uncured print resin residue, carefully cut off the print supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Protect your airways while sanding. Fit the folded wings after painting, so that the mechanism and the internal structure stand out.
This is an accessory set in resin, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
