A detail resin set of the exhaust nozzles for a model of the Harrier GR Mk.5/7 ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale from Aires. This is not an airplane kit but an accessory for improving a plastic kit of the matching type. The set replaces the nozzles from the box with precisely cast parts of the vectoring nozzles with a faithful shape and surface.
The Harrier GR.5 and GR.7 belong to the Harrier II generation, the British ground-attack aircraft with vertical and short takeoff and landing (V/STOL). Power comes from the Rolls-Royce Pegasus engine with four vectoring nozzles, by turning which the aircraft directs its thrust for hovering as well as for taking off from a short runway. The GR.7 version extended the capabilities of the machine with equipment for night operations.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and dry-fit them: depending on the kit the mating surfaces may have to be modified. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways when sanding resin. Suitable metallic paints and gentle grading of the shades according to the heat stress support the metal look of the nozzles.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
