The set contains four turned metal barrels of Hispano Mk II 20 mm cannons in the version with round recoil springs. It is an accessory for Hurricane Mk IIC kits in 1:48 scale, not a model in its own right. The manufacturer also makes a set for the earlier Mk I version with flat springs, so check before buying which of them matches your machine.
The cannon version of the Hurricane carried four 20 mm cannons in the wing. The Hispano Mk II version differs from the earlier Mk I among other things in the shape of the recoil spring cover, which on this type comes out round. On a finished model it is one of the few details by which the armament version can be told apart, because the rest of the weapon is inside the wing.
Metal barrels are best painted differently from plastic ones. Instead of a continuous coat, try chemical oxidation or a blackening solution intended for metal: the surface darkens but stays metallic and does not clog the fine edges. If you do reach for paint, first degrease the metal with spirit and apply a primer for metal, otherwise the finish will come away during masking or handling. Handle the gluing itself with a small amount of super glue; excess shines on smooth metal and is hard to remove. Fit the barrels only once the painting of the wing is finished, so that you do not have to mask four thin tubes.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
