The set from the Polish company MASTER in 1:48 scale holds turned metal barrels of 20 mm Hispano aircraft cannons for the early Hawker Tempest Mk.V, in the version with barrels projecting from the aerodynamic fairings on the leading edge of the wing. It is not an aircraft model but a precise replacement part which replaces the plastic barrels from the box and gives the model a realistic look of the gun muzzles.
The Hawker Tempest was a British fighter aircraft of the end of the Second World War, developed from the Typhoon and known for its high speed at low altitudes. The Mk.V version carried four wing-mounted 20 mm Hispano cannons. On early machines the longer barrels projected from the fairings on the leading edge of the wing, a detail which this set captures faithfully.
You cut off the original plastic barrel, drill a hole into the remainder of the part and glue the metal barrel in with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the parts before painting and go over them with a metal primer. The metal barrels will give the wing a sharp and precise outline of the armament.
This is a detailing accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
