A resin detail part, not an aircraft kit. This set in finely cast resin by the brand Quickboost (Aires) replaces the exhaust manifolds of the British fighter-bomber Hawker Typhoon in 1:48 scale. This rugged machine with its massive Napier Sabre engine had a row of short exhaust stubs along the sides of the fuselage; resin captures them more sharply and with suggested openings, which is hard to achieve in plastic.
The exhausts sit right in the line of sight along the sides of the front part of the fuselage and the way they are made markedly affects the final impression. The casting captures the shape of the individual exhaust stubs more faithfully than plastic and on some pieces it even has drilled openings suggested. Once painted in metallic and rusty shades with light weathering, the area around the engine comes to life.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
