This resin accessory from Quickboost in 1:48 scale offers a faithfully cast pilot seat with cast safety belts for a model of the British Hawker Typhoon fighter-bomber. It is not an airplane kit, but a one-piece replacement part that swaps the bare seat from the plastic kit for a detailed piece ready to go straight into the cockpit.
The Hawker Typhoon was a British single-seat fighter-bomber of the Second World War, powered by a strong H-24 engine and deployed above all against ground targets. The pilot sat in a seat with a multi-point harness. A cast seat with faithfully rendered belts saves you folding and gluing the straps separately and lifts the look of an open cockpit markedly.
Wash the resin part in lukewarm soapy water because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting block under the seat off with a saw or a cutter, sand the surface and protect your breathing when sanding resin. Paint the seat separately before setting it into the cockpit; bring out the belts and the details with a fine wash and a dry brush. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue and apply a primer before painting.
It is supplied as a resin accessory for experienced modelers, not as a stand-alone kit. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
