About product

Eduard He 219 STEEL photo-etched belts 1:48

This is a detail accessory, not the model itself. The STEEL line from Eduard uses thin, flexible steel sheet with a color print, so the harness belts look true to scale and can be shaped naturally. The set is intended for models of the twin-engine Heinkel He 219 Uhu night fighter in 1:48 scale.

What makes the set stand out

The steel base is thinner than classic brass etch and holds a bend better, so the belt behaves like a fabric strap and does not spring back into its original shape. The parts are pre-painted in faithful colors including the suggested buckles, which removes the laborious painting of each individual fitting.

Fitting tips

Carefully separate the parts from the fret, shape them gently with tweezers and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) in small amounts. The printed finish can be touched up locally if needed and picked out with thinned oil paint or with a wash that flows into the detail of the buckle.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers building the He 219 in 1:48 scale
  • Anyone who wants quick and faithful cockpit detail without painting the belts
  • Builders used to working with fine photo-etched parts

This is an accessory for a model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.

No. This is a detail set of harness belts; the He 219 model itself is not included in the package.

No, the parts are pre-painted in faithful colors; a light touch-up and picking them out with a wash is all that is needed.
