The Hauler 1:48 basic photo-etched set for the HMMWV M1025 armored car is an accessory for a kit you have already bought, not a model of the vehicle. It deals with the main external detail, where a plastic mold runs up against the limit of what it can do.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set designated as basic, meant for the plastic kit of the American HMMWV cross-country vehicle in the M1025 version in 1:48 scale. It is not a model or a kit: the parts are built into the Tamiya kit. A basic set among accessories usually takes care of the main external items, while the interior and other subassemblies are covered by separate sets of the same range.
The HMMWV is an American multi-purpose cross-country vehicle introduced in the 1980s as a replacement for older light vehicles. It was built in many versions on a common chassis - from cargo and ambulance types to armed ones. The M1025 version is among the variants with an armored body and a weapon station on the roof. Characteristic of it are the low, wide silhouette, the marked rake of the windshield and the robust running gear. The model works well both on its own in a display case and in a contemporary diorama.
With super glue it pays to have two kinds: a thin one for running by capillary action into a joint already seated and a gel one where you need time to line a part up. Always offer a photo-etched part up dry first and only then glue it. Run the bends along the etched lines, ideally in a bender. Degrease the metal with alcohol and go over it with primer, or on modern equipment with large smooth areas the paint will peel at the first handling. An even matte surface helps to unify a whole model regardless of how many different materials are underneath it.
The set is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
