An injection-molded plastic kit of the British fighter Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIC in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. It is newer tooling with a clear breakdown of parts: the box holds several plastic sprues, a clear sprue for the glazing and decals for color schemes. Both the fuselage and the wing are worked out in detail. The build is friendly to less experienced modelers too, and it is a good basis for adding photo-etch or masks from the accessory range if you want to take the detail further.
Alongside the Spitfire, the Hurricane was the main British fighter of the Battle of Britain and scored most of the victories of 1940. The Mk.IIC version carried an armament of four 20 mm cannons and became a universal machine: it served as a fighter, a ground-attack aircraft and an escort on many fronts from Europe through Africa to Asia. The rugged structure with a tubular frame and fabric covering was easy to repair in field conditions.
Use thin cement for plastic and dry-fit the parts. Mask the cockpit glazing and paint it separately. Spray a primer before painting, lay down a gloss coat under the decals and unify the whole with a matte one. British Second World War camouflage schemes stand out with subtle highlighting of the panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
