A set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the British Hawker Hurricane Mk.I fighter. An accessory to a kit, not a stand-alone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hurricane Mk.I was a British single-seat fighter of the late 1930s. Its fuselage was built on a welded tubular framework with a covering, which was an older route than an all-metal shell, but a damaged machine was easy to repair. Its widely splayed landing gear gave it confidence on grass airfields, the powerplant was a Rolls-Royce Merlin twelve-cylinder V engine and the armament was eight 7.7 millimeter machine guns in the wing. In 1940 Hurricanes were more numerous with the British fighter squadrons than Spitfires.
Photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale. Photo-etching carries a thickness in tenths of a millimeter, so covers, meshes, clasps and small flat pieces look like sheet metal on a model and not like a board. Which parts of the aircraft the set covers and which kit it is tuned to are given in the manufacturer's instructions; go through them in full before you cut the first part off.
The elements are held on the carrier fret by thin tabs. Separate them with a sharp blade on a hard backing; scissors would bend the edge. Make the bend over a sharp edge or in a bending tool, along the whole length at once, otherwise the edge will ripple. Degrease the parts before gluing; fingerprints stay on metal even under paint. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue or with two-part epoxy, which gives a longer time to true them up. Apply the paint onto a base coat, as it rubs off on bare metal.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
