The cockpit is the first thing anyone looks at on a finished model, and the plastic seat from an ordinary kit tends to be its weakest point. Quickboost solves this problem in one step: the resin seat has the safety belts cast directly with the part, so assembling and forming photo-etched belts and making belts from film both fall away. The result is finished in a moment, and in 1:48 scale it is already markedly visible inside the cockpit. The package holds this accessory alone; the model of the airplane itself has to be your own.
The Saab J 29 was a Swedish jet fighter of the first postwar generation with a swept wing, which flew in 1948 and was thus among the earliest European machines of this layout. Because of its barrel-shaped fuselage it earned the nickname Tunnan, that is the barrel. It served with the Swedish Air Force in a whole range of versions, from fighter through fighter-bomber to reconnaissance, and it was also one of the few Swedish combat airplanes committed to an operation abroad. The cockpit of these machines had a simple layout with an ejection seat, on which the belts are clearly apparent.
First wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap, or the paint will not hold on the remains of release agent. Cut the casting block off under the seat pan with a cutting disc and level the surface wet. Paint it away from the model: first a dark base, then the seat's own shade, set the belts apart with a lighter tone and the metal buckles with a dry brush. Accenting the folds with a dark wash and a light dry brush on the edges will give the part depth. Finally glue the seat into the cockpit with super glue and check that once the fuselage is closed it does not clash with the frame of the canopy.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
