A resin ejection seat with cast safety belts for the Swedish Saab J-35 Draken supersonic fighter in 1:48 scale from the brand Quickboost. It is not an aircraft model but an accurate replacement part for experienced modelers that replaces the simplified seat from a kit and lifts the fidelity of a cockpit at a stroke. The casting captures the fine relief of the straps, the buckles and the shell that is hard to create in plastic.
The J-35 Draken was a distinctive Swedish fighter with a double delta wing that served from the end of the fifties and became a symbol of Swedish postwar aviation. Under its slid-back canopy the seat is clearly visible, which is why it is worth concentrating on. The part is intended as a refinement of an existing Draken model in the same scale, not as a stand-alone kit.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue. Cut the casting block under the seat off with a sharp knife or a fine saw and sand the surface; protect your airways when sanding resin. Glue it with super glue (cyanoacrylate): ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Spray the seat with a base color, bring the belts to life in a different shade and pick the buckles out with a dry brush; a fine wash will deepen the details.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
