The Shenyang J-8 was a Chinese supersonic fighter originally intended for high-altitude interception duties in the defense of the country's airspace. It was based on older designs, but in the J-8II form it received side air intakes and a more powerful powerplant. The J-8F version from the later stage of development received a more modern radar and armament and served with the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) as a supersonic interceptor.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Paint and highlight the cockpit and the ejection seat before you close the fuselage, and mask the clear canopy during spraying. Apply a primer and the paints with an airbrush and apply the decals over a gloss coat. Fit the external stores and the tanks at the very end; the metal surfaces of the aircraft come out well with discreet panel contrasts and a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
