This is a 3D-printed resin accessory, not a standalone model. It represents the German 20 liter standard-pattern jerrycan in the form of early prewar and early wartime production (the 1938 pattern) in 1:48 scale. It serves for loading vehicles and for bringing dioramas to life.
The German standard-pattern jerrycan (Einheitskanister) was designed in the second half of the 1930s and became the model for the jerrycans of every army. The early version differed from the later ones in details of the neck, the closure and the pressings. The three handles, the cross pressed into the sides and the hinged catch of the closure are characteristic.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry. Before separating them from the supports it is worth dipping them in hot water for a moment; the resin softens and will not chip. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue. A darker base, dry brushing on the edges and a light patina of rust and dust help toward a realistic look.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
