The Eduard masking set for the Junkers F.13 in 1:48 scale makes painting the glazing of this interwar transport aircraft easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set serves to cover the glazing of a Junkers F.13 model during spraying. It is an accessory to a plastic kit; you will not find the aircraft itself in the package. This kind of product is made by the Czech brand Eduard from Obrnice near Most.
The Junkers F.13 of 1919 is often described as the first series-built all-metal transport aircraft. It had a corrugated duralumin skin, a cantilever low wing without struts and an enclosed cabin for passengers, while at first the crew sat in an open compartment. It flew on scheduled routes and as a machine for aerial photography and spread to dozens of countries, where it was fitted with skis or floats as needed. It came about at a time when most of the competition was still building in wood and fabric, and that is exactly why it is still referred to as a milestone of civil transport.
First clean the glazing and let it dry completely, transfer the parts with tweezers and press them down from the middle toward the edges. Apply the paint in thin coats; a single heavy coat likes to creep under the edge. Remove any glue residue around the edges of the transparencies before you start spraying. Take the covering off while the finish is freshly dried, not after several days.
Paints, glue and the kit do not come with this accessory.
