Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Polish manufacturer Mirage Hobby represents the German Pz.Kpfw.IV medium tank in the Ausf.D version. The release captures machines from the period of the campaign in the west in 1940 and contains, besides the plastic parts, a photo-etched fret and decals with several variants of the markings. The build of the running gear and the road wheels is fairly intricate, so more advanced modelers will appreciate the model most.
The Pz.Kpfw.IV was the most widespread German medium tank of the Second World War and served from its beginning to its end. The early versions including the Ausf.D carried a short 75 mm barrel intended mainly for infantry support and for fighting soft targets. The Ausf.D tanks took part in the campaign in France in 1940, where they played the role of a support machine alongside lighter types.
Assemble and clean up the running gear, the road wheels and the lower hull before closing up the hull and fitting the turret; the intricate parts of the running gear will call for patience. Apply a primer and then the base shade: German Panzergrau gray suits the year 1940. Pull out the engraving and the detail with a wash into the recesses, emphasize the edges with a dry brush and finish the underside and the running gear with dust and mud pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
