This product belongs among the metal accessories for kits and is not a model on its own. The name gives away what it covers: the crew's seat belts and the gunsights, two small things that in plastic kits are either missing or molded into the seats as an indistinct relief. Yet it is exactly these details that catch the eye first in an open cockpit.
The Junkers Ju 88 started out as a fast bomber, but during the war it became a genuinely universal machine, and its night fighter forms were among the most effective means of German air defense. The machines carried the aerial array of an airborne radar on the nose, heavy cannon armament in a ventral gondola, and some of them also upward-firing cannons, with which they attacked the British bomber stream from below. The crew consisted of three men crammed into one glazed cockpit, so the interior is clearly visible on a model.
Before bending, it pays to warm the belts over a flame for a moment; the metal softens and stops springing back. Make the bends over the sharp edge of a rule, not with your fingers. Apply the paint in two thin coats and leave the buckles in a metal shade, so that the contrast stands out. Fit the set into the cockpit before you close the fuselage up.
