A resin detail part, not an airplane kit. This finely cast resin set from Quickboost (Aires) replaces the exhausts of the German Junkers Ju 88G-6 night fighter in 1:48 scale. These are exhausts with flame dampers, which shielded the glowing flame from the engines so that the aircraft did not give away its position at night. The casting captures their characteristic shrouded shape more faithfully than the plastic from the box.
Night fighters had their exhausts fitted with shrouds against glare and detection, which changes the look of the whole engine nacelle. The resin casting captures the shape of the flame dampers and their texture more crisply than plastic, and on some parts the openings are suggested as well. Once painted in metallic and sooty shades, the area around the engines looks realistic.
