DEF Model 1:48 KEPD 350K TAURUS Missile Double Set is a resin set of two long-range guided missiles for a model of the F-15K aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not an aircraft model but an accessory for one. It holds two KEPD 350K Taurus guided missiles cast in resin in 1:48 scale, meant to go under the wings of an F-15K model. The casting captures the angular cross-section of the missile body, the sharp leading edges of the wings and the fine panel lines more faithfully than a part from an injection mold can.
The Taurus KEPD 350 is an air-to-ground guided missile with a range in the hundreds of kilometers, developed jointly by German and Swedish industry for destroying fortified and deeply buried targets. It flies low over the terrain and holds its course with an inertial unit supplemented by matching the shape of the landscape, so it does without a continuous satellite signal. The Republic of Korea Air Force introduced a modified version under the designation KEPD 350K, and its carrier is the F-15K Slam Eagle, the two-seat Korean form of the F-15E Strike Eagle. A pair of these missiles belongs to the typical external load with which the machine appears at displays and in photographs from training.
Wash the parts first in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry, or the paint will hold badly on them. Cut off the remains of the casting block with a saw and level the surface, then join the parts with super glue. Spray the missiles separately away from the model, so that every surface is reached well, and add them to the model only at the end. The sharp edges and the panel lines come out well with a thin dark shadow, and a matte finish gives the surface the look of real ordnance.
This is an accessory set in resin. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
