A resin detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale made to show the onboard cannon bays open on the IAI Kfir fighter in the C2 and C7 versions. This is not an airplane model but an accessory for an existing plastic kit. The set contains cast resin parts with fine structure on the internal equipment of the gun section, which replace the closed parts of the kit.
The Kfir is an Israeli supersonic fighter based on the Mirage design, fitted with an American turbojet and with canards added at the air intakes. Its armament included a pair of fixed 30 mm onboard cannon mounted at the wing roots. The C2 and C7 versions were among the main modernized standards, with improved avionics and wider options for carrying armament.
First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, then separate the casting blocks carefully and align them with the fuselage of the kit. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and sand with your airways protected. The open gun bays come alive once painted in metallic shades and lightly brought out with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
