Ki-46 III Kai Dinah masks 1:48 is a set of painting masks from the Czech maker Eduard for masking the glazed cockpit and other items of a model of this type.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:48 scale for the Japanese Mitsubishi Ki-46 III Kai aircraft, given the Allied designation Dinah. The masks serve for accurate masking of the frames of the glazed cockpit and usually the wheels as well. This is an accessory for building a model, not the model itself.
The Mitsubishi Ki-46 was a Japanese twin-engined reconnaissance aircraft of the Second World War, valued for its high speed and its elegant aerodynamic shape. The III Kai version was adapted for the role of interceptor. The Allied code name was Dinah.
The masks are laid adhesive side down directly onto the clean, degreased cockpit glazing and the other items of the model to be masked, the edges are pressed down carefully and the areas between them are covered with tape or with masking fluid. The framing is then sprayed in the airframe color and once dry the masks are carefully taken off. The pre-cut shape matches the subdivision of the cockpit, so laborious cutting of tape with a knife is not needed. The masks are intended for the given aircraft type; the particular kit has to be obtained separately.
Painting masks are not a model. The aircraft kit itself has to be obtained separately; masks, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
