Carving Foam 10 mm A5 - foam for carving terrain

Carving Foam from AK Interactive is a dense, fine-grained foam sheet developed specially for diorama builders. It is easy to engrave and cut into, it holds the sharp mark of the tool and it does not crumble the way ordinary polystyrene does. The sheet is 10 mm thick and in A5 format, which is enough for low walls, paved areas or smaller terrain features. It is from this very material that the brick walls, stone paving, rocks and ruined buildings on competition dioramas are made.

Use

• Draw the pattern onto the sheet in pencil and engrave the scribe lines with a spatula, a graver or a blunt needle.
• It can be cut with an ordinary modeling knife, and thicker pieces are snapped once scored.
• Fine-tune the stone texture with crumpled aluminum foil, a wire brush or coarse abrasive.
• Before painting, give the surface a primer, then paint it with acrylics, washes and pigments.

Who it is for

The sheet is intended for builders of dioramas and vignettes in all scales; a thickness of 10 mm serves for more massive walls, sidewalks, building foundations and blocks of rock. The maker also produces other thicknesses and formats, so the material can be combined to suit the needs of a particular scene.

This is a modeling material, not a kit. Tools, paints and glues are not included in the package.
