Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set for the cockpit from the Czech manufacturer Aires, intended to improve markedly the interior of a plastic model of the Japanese fighter Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien in 1:48 scale. The set combines fine resin castings with photo-etched parts. It is not an airplane model but an accessory that replaces the simplified plastic cockpit with a faithfully rendered interior.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien (Allied reporting name Tony) was a Japanese fighter of the Second World War, unusual for its liquid-cooled V engine, which gave it a slender aerodynamic silhouette reminiscent of European fighters. The Ki-61-Id version was among the most widespread.
Before gluing, it is advisable to wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent to remove any residue of the release agent, to cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and to glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. Fitting the set into the fuselage usually calls for small adjustments.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
