Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set for the engine from the Czech manufacturer Aires, intended for a full rendering of the powerplant of a plastic model of the Japanese fighter Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien in 1:48 scale. The set consists of fine resin castings complemented by photo-etched parts. It is not an airplane model but an accessory thanks to which the model can be built with the engine exposed and rendered in detail.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien (Allied reporting name Tony) was exceptional among Japanese fighters of the Second World War for its liquid-cooled V engine. It was precisely that engine which gave the aircraft its slender nose and unusual silhouette, so rendering it faithfully is a rewarding element of more advanced builds.
Before gluing, wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. Opening the engine covers on the model usually calls for modifying the plastic parts.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
